What a Room Planner Should Do
A room planner answers three questions: Will this furniture fit? Will it look good? Will it work for how we live? Aedifex tackles all three in a single browser tab, with a free tier that's actually useful.
Start From an Empty Box or a Floor Plan
If you already drew a floor plan, open that project and the room is already there. If you're starting fresh, draw four walls in 30 seconds — Aedifex's snap-to-grid means you don't fight precision.
Set ceiling height, door position, and the wall material (paint color, wallpaper, exposed brick — your choice). Lighting comes for free from the windows you place.
Drop in Furniture
The catalog includes living room sets, bedroom suites, kitchen fixtures, desks, shelving, lamps, and decor. Every item has accurate real-world dimensions, so you'll know if your couch actually fits between those two windows.
Click to drop, drag to position, scroll to rotate. Aedifex prevents impossible placements (you can't slide a 200 cm sofa through a 60 cm doorway), but otherwise you have full control.
Preview Materials and Lighting
Tile floors? Hardwood? Rug only? Try all three in five seconds. Material swaps render in real-time using physically-based shading, so the preview matches what you'd actually see in the space.
Move the sun angle to see how morning or evening light enters through your windows. This catches "the bedroom is dark in winter" before you commit to the layout.
Walk the Space in 3D
The camera in Aedifex behaves like a normal first-person walk. Use WASD to move, mouse to look. Drop yourself at human eye level and walk around. Notice things photos won't show: the angle the kitchen island blocks the view from the couch, the way the hallway feels too narrow.
Share With Anyone
When you're happy with a room, generate a share link. Anyone clicking it gets the interactive 3D view in their browser — no install, no account on their end. Toggle to publish to the community showcase for a public, indexable URL.

Open the live demo (no sign-up). When you're ready to save your work, create a free account — three saved projects on the free tier, each with full editor access.

Good for Real Decisions
Use the room planner when a tape measure alone is not enough. Check whether a sofa blocks the balcony door, whether a queen bed leaves closet access, whether a dining chair can pull out, or whether a desk has a usable video-call background.
The goal is practical confidence before money is spent. Build the room, place real-size furniture, walk the path, then share the plan with anyone who needs to understand the layout.
